GAINESVILLE, Fla. (July 2, 2021) – Gas South, a natural gas provider that is in the process of acquiring Gainesville, FL-based Infinite Energy, announced a donation to two local organizations.

The company is giving $5,000 each to Gainesville organizations Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG) and Food4Kids, as part of its dedication to giving back to children in need.

“Now that Gas South is putting down some roots in Gainesville, we’re excited to support the great work being done here and help make a difference,” said Kevin Greiner, CEO at Gas South.

Gas South’s purpose is to Be A Fuel For Good, and as part of that, the company pledges 5% of its annual profits to support children in need. Gas South believes our communities are the strongest when all children are well and have opportunities to reach their full potential. This involves helping families build strong foundations, supporting their basic needs, and providing positive pathways for kids.

“SWAG and Food4Kids’ missions are well aligned with Gas South’s giving program,” Carley Stephens, Gas South’s Community Affairs Manager said. SWAG works to provide resources for underserved families, from childcare to school supplies to healthcare. And Food4Kids provides meals for School Board of Alachua County students over weekends and school breaks.

“The holiday season has always been a challenge for children in food-insecure homes while they don’t have access to school meals, and that’s been even more difficult throughout 2020’s periods of remote learning,” said Jennifer Moore of Food4Kids. “We’re so grateful for this contribution from Gas South to help us get more food to more kids during this critical time.”

In 2020, Gas South has donated over $1 million to support families in our communities impacted by COVID-19.

“Gainesville is lucky to have so many strong community partners,” Stephens said. “We look forward to continuing to connect with local organizations as we work toward making a positive impact here.”
